Possible Mind Body Symptoms

 

The latest research in neuroscience  would now suggest that there is a plethora of conditions that are considered to have their root cause in a mind-body connection, some of which are noted below.

 

My own experience with previous clients has taught me that a whole host of illnesses/symptoms can benefit from the application of Mind-Body strategies.  These are often conditions that are labelled 'medically unexplained' and/or constitute the reason for repeat visits to the GP Practice, due to the inefficiency of biomedical solutions in successfully treating them.

  • Back pain, neck pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, ankle pain and other aches and pains throughout the joints or limbs.

  • Sciatica

  • Tension headache

  • Migraines

  • Whiplash

  • Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)

  • Temperomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)

  • Chronic Tendonitis

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome 

  • Sacro-Iliac joint dysfunction

  • Numbness, itching, burning, tingling, pins and needles, plus muscle weakness, muscle spasms and involuntary movements, restless leg syndrome

  • Hay fever

  • Asthma

  • Frequent infections such as: ear, chest, bladder, cystitis, thrush, veruccas and warts.

  • Repetitive coughs

  • Unexplained chest pain or palpitations (clinical tests should be first carried out to rule out anything else)

  • Shortness of breath

  • Irregular heartbeats

  • Gastrointestinal issues such as: stomach pain, vomiting, IBS, colitis, heartburn, constipation, diarrhoea

  • Undiagnosed pelvic pain, bladder frequency, interstitial cystitis.

  • Skin conditions such as: Eczema, acne, psoriasis, hives, rashes. etc

  • Mental health:  eating disorders, depression, anxiety, panic attacks

  • Bell's palsy

  • Vertigo/dizziness

  • Changes in voice

  • Tinnitus
